Service providers and content providers have been looking for Layer 2 MPLS switches that can scale two terabits per slot capacity but at improved cost points. Juniper's PTX Series addresses the multilayer approach by focusing on switching packets (LSPs) and multiplexing OTN, when needed, with a hybrid fabric, which has the new Express chip set.
