Fixed and mobile operators have to evolve their broadband access networks to create scalable capacity to deliver multiservice support with greater cost, operational efficiency and an exceptional user experience.  IP/MPLS, which utilizes network resources and reduces operational costs, is the technology of choice to converge multiple access and backhaul technologies into one unified network. MPLS, with its support for TDM, ATM, Ethernet and IP services, is the logical technology for converged access and aggregation networks and provides solutions for the transport of traffic in fixed, 2G/3G and 4G/LTE mobile networks.  The Juniper ACX Series Universal Access Routers extend Juniper’s core/edge IP/MPLS solution to deliver end-to-end manageability, provide low-cost access and meet fixed and mobile operators’ needs.

ACG Research's Chris Nicoll, principal mobile infrastructure analyst, discusses how the series fills a previous void in the unified access market for environmentally hardened, passively cooled, 10GbE capable, small form factor access routers.
